Privateer 2: The Darkening returns in a 30th Anniversary Edition, released on Steam on 5 November 2026 with restored cinematics and enhancements for modern PCs. Originally released in 1996 as part of the Wing Commander franchise, the game combines space trading and combat with live-action storytelling, featuring a cast including Clive Owen, John Hurt, Christopher Walken, Mathilda May and Jürgen Prochnow. It was also one of James Hannigan’s first game scores: Alongside Ray Shulman, James wrote the main theme, scored several full-motion video sequences and the in-game music.
